German Technology. Malaysian Precision.

Every Eclipse Schutz product is built on a foundation of German material science, engineered to perform in Malaysia’s unique tropical climate. Explore the technology behind our protection systems.

German Material Science

Eclipse Schutz sources its core materials from German-engineered chemical and polymer systems that meet the highest automotive industry standards. Germany’s leadership in automotive engineering extends beyond vehicles to the materials that protect them. Our supply chain is built on German precision, quality control, and performance verification.

Our materials undergo rigorous testing for tropical climate durability — including accelerated UV aging, humidity resistance, and thermal cycling tests designed to simulate years of Malaysian weather conditions.

TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) Technology

Our PPF is manufactured from premium TPU — a material chosen for its exceptional balance of flexibility, durability, and optical clarity. TPU outperforms older PVC-based films in every key metric:

  • Flexibility: Conforms to complex curved body panels without creasing or lifting
  • Durability: Resists cracking, splitting, and edge lifting under thermal stress
  • Optical Clarity: Crystal-clear without the orange-peel texture common in lower-quality films
  • Impact Absorption: Energy-dissipating properties absorb stone chip impacts

Nano Coating Layer

The top coat of Eclipse Schutz PPF incorporates a nano-scale hydrophobic coating. At the molecular level, this coating creates an extremely low surface energy surface — meaning water, dirt, and contaminants cannot bond to the film surface.

Benefits of the Nano Coating:

  • Water beads and rolls off immediately on contact
  • Dirt and dust do not adhere, reducing maintenance frequency
  • Bird droppings and insect residue are easier to clean before they etch
  • Gloss enhancement — the nano layer adds depth and clarity to paint appearance

Self-Healing Layer

Eclipse Schutz PPF contains an elastomeric polymer self-healing layer. When the film surface suffers a light scratch or swirl mark, the molecular structure of this layer responds to heat — either from sunlight or warm water — by flowing back into its original position, erasing the damage.

How Self-Healing Works:

  • Surface scratch disrupts the polymer chain alignment in the healing layer
  • Heat energy (30–60°C) provides activation energy for molecular movement
  • Polymer chains return to equilibrium, filling and erasing the scratch
  • Surface appearance is fully restored, typically within 20–60 minutes of sun exposure

In Malaysia’s hot climate, self-healing is particularly effective — the ambient temperature regularly provides sufficient activation energy for the healing process.

Tropical Climate Optimisation

Standard PPF is engineered for temperate climates. Eclipse Schutz goes further — every product specification is validated for Malaysia’s specific conditions.

UV Resistance: Malaysia receives approximately 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily at UV Index 10–12. Eclipse Schutz films include enhanced UV stabilisers that prevent yellowing and degradation at extended tropical UV exposure levels.

Humidity Resistance: High ambient humidity accelerates adhesive failure in lower-quality films. Eclipse Schutz adhesive systems are formulated and tested to maintain bond strength at >80% relative humidity conditions typical of Malaysian weather.

Thermal Stability: Panel surface temperatures in Malaysian parking conditions can exceed 80°C. Eclipse Schutz films maintain dimensional stability and adhesive integrity at temperatures that would cause lesser products to bubble or delaminate.
